Chrysler Sales Stay Strong in June

There’s been speculation of late wondering just how long the strong sales that the industry has been enjoying can stick around. So far, this year has had month after month showing that the US auto industry is back in full force from the economic downfall that spiraled them into bankruptcy, requiring a bailout to even survive. Things have certainly turned around, and for the better, the companies proving that they were worth the investment to keep alive. Car sales have lead to plants being re-opened, shifts being added, workers back where they belong. The question has still remained, how long can this trend hold out?

The answer is still going to have to wait, June turns out to be continuing the sales trend. Mycentraljersey.com is reporting that Chrysler actually just had their best June in over 5 years. Numerous factors seem to be coming into play as to why the sales have stayed strong, gas prices have been falling and new vehicles, such as the Dodge Dart, have kept people’s interest in purchasing. There’s also the point that most car drivers are finally at a point where their cars are just getting too old and are in need of replacement.

Some of the notable increases also belong to the pickup trucks of Ram’s line-up. Their sales had an increase of 12 percent in their sales. The Chrysler 300 sedan also doubled its sales from just last year. In total, it was a 20 percent gain for the month for Chrysler.

June Chrysler Sales Remain Strong

Auto sales have been on a consistent upswing of sales for this whole year. The economy may still be slugging along, but the car industry is making a lot of headway from their bail out and are really starting to show that they were worth the investment.

Chrysler in June is expecting their sales to stay at about the same level as they were in May.

Reid Bigland, Chrysler’s head of US Sales, commented on the sales of June, “We’re going to have a similar industry from a SAAR perspective that we had in May in June. We probably had a little bit of a pull-ahead into February and March.” The current estimate for vehicle sales, including medium and heavy-duty trucks is 14 millions sales, which is where May’s sales were.

June is already a big month for Chrysler. The sales for the Dodge Dart will be starting, with about 1,000 of them in the wild at a variety of dealerships. In the next four weeks, they hope to be reaching full output. There’s also the fact that the company is thinking of adding a third shift to keep up with the demand on their Ram trucks. The 2013 Ram 1500 will begin production this September.

The story has yet to be written on the sales growth of Chrysler. No one is quite sure when the surge is going to end, and while June didn’t see an increase, it stayed steady with the rest of year. Lenders, Chrysler Give Poor Credit Consumers Another Chance

The average American consumer’s credit might not be stellar right now, but lenders are overlooking that and offering better rates on auto loans.

According to a report from Experian Automotive, it is a great time to get an auto loan, especially for consumers with poor credit. Banks and lending institutions have loosened restrictions on auto loans, and in return, they have seen fewer consumers defaulting on their auto loans.

Interestingly enough, Chrysler has been cited as a car company that wants to help consumers with low credit score or no credit at all to get a vehicle. Edmonds.com’s Michelle Krebs mentioned the Chrysler family, specifically Dodge, as willing to work with poor credit consumers, stating, “We’ve noticed that people…for example, the Dodge brand selling to that group – has been part of Chrysler’s history they’ve gone after that buyer so that is helping to boost their sales.”

Perhaps it is because of Chrysler’s recent history that they are willing to give American car buyers another chance. Chrysler has gone through tough times, but they are having an incredible year from getting ranked as a top 10 car brand to having one of the year’s most anticipated car launches with the Dodge Dart and winning award for the Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300. Maybe by giving more car shoppers the chance to get into a car, they can give back a little bit to the people who stuck by them and believed in Chrysler.
